The Clavinet
Simply put, the clavinet is an electric guitar in a box. It's keys are
affixed with a rubber-tipped stem which lands squarely on the corresponding
string below. The sound is captured by a pair of foot-long pickups, which
run into a 9 volt preamplifier. The later D6, E7, and Duo models all incorporporate
a muting lever for pizzicato sounds.
